GK Soccer Training will strive to have players reach their potential. Potential is a quality
that is determined by CHOICE. The quest for GK Soccer Training is to have players learn
the qualities that envelope excellence while assisting them to extend beyond their comfort
zones. Training players in an environment that is challenging, yet not overwhelming, will
provide players with the opportunity to explore and learn how to cope with adversity. The
GK Soccer Training environment is geared toward the personal development of the
individual and the collective effectiveness that they carry-over to their team.
GK Soccer Training realizes the importance of making soccer fun. This does not mean that
competition is removed. Competition is a central element in a player’s development;
however, a competitive environment does not need to be solely focused on results. A
developing player needs to learn that the true measure of his or her performance is not
recorded in wins and losses, but in how much effort they have given to the game. One ideal
that GK Soccer Training will emphasize to developing players is to focus on the process.
This process will begin by developing the correct habits to properly learn the fundamental
skills. This learning process will enlighten players to gain more competence, as well as
broaden their perspective of their strength and weaknesses.
Ultimately, the basic intent of GK Soccer Training is to improve and foster player
development. Understanding that teaching the game of soccer is not the only component
that influences the well-being of players, GK Soccer Training will demonstrate the value of
respect and consideration. The professionalism displayed will be the foundation to having
an enriched experience that teaches valuable lessons of learning how to strive to win, to
compete with pride and honor, to make sacrifices, to persevere at all costs, and to develop
a sense of obligation and responsibility to yourself and others.
